PPV with IOL Exchange and Scleral Fixation

The dislocation of posterior chamber IOL through an unrecognized peripheral PC rent after phaco surgery is are rare but well known complication of phaco surgery. Expertise of an experienced vitreoretinal surgeon is needed to save the eye from further sequelae of a wandering pseudophacos and to restore of useful vision. A patient was referred to Zia ul Mazhry, MD, from a neighboring surgery center with an inferior PC rent and dislocated PC IOL. PC was intact superiorly. Retrieval, exchange and scleral fixation of dislocated PC IOL combined with PPV is depicted and explained in this surgical video along with pre and post op images.
