Phaco Elimination: Ultrasound Free Cataract Surgery

Show Description +

A new irrigation aspiration "phaco free" tip is being shown in combination with femto cataract surgery. The complete softening pattern with the Catalys laser system in combination with the new tip design allows for efficient lens removal without the use of ultrasound. A Bausch and Lomb Millennium phaco machine is being used with 500 mmHG of aspiration (similar to I/A settings for cortex removal).

Great technology So easy optometrists will be doing it soon enough. Another "bonus feature" is that CMS will start paying a whopping $200 for the reimbursement based on the time spent.
