I have indeed performed a 360° retinotomy, but the retinotomy concerned the far periphery, so the pre-equatorial retina remained fully safe and the scleral buckle had been placed to support this peripheral retina, in case of further anterior PVR at the retina edges. Vitreous base has been thoroughly removed but the scleral buckle supports the retina if PVR membranes growth. I was lucky in this case taking care of the final result for this young woman. Thanks for your interest in my case. Nice to see you in a future congress. Best regards, Dr. Aissani Frederic

Outstanding case. Truly a heroic effort. Why the scleral buckle after a 360 relaxing retinotomy? What exactly is this supporting after the vitreous base has been effectively disinserted from the retina.
