New Technique for Ab Interno Canaloplasty using 25g MVR blade to open Schlemms Canal

Show Description +

Omar F. Almallah, MD, demonstrates a combined technique for phacoemulsification and IOL placement combined with Ab Interno canaloplasty without the placement of a stent. A 25g MVR blade is used to open the trabecular meshwork which allows easy access to the Schlemm's canal. The canal is catheterized for 360 degrees and visco-dilation of the collector channels to restore aqueous flow in the distal drainage system. The procedure is useful for mild to moderate open angle glaucoma.
