Management of an Iris Cyst

Show Description +

In this video, a 37-year-old woman presented with a progressively bulging iris cyst. The patient had cataract surgery 3 years prior and a history of trauma at age 6. The cyst caused pupil distortion and shifted the visual axis. Slit lamp examination revealed an adherent scar at 9 o'clock, low endothelial cell count, and normal corneal thickness. Mona Bhargava, MD, walks through surgical management with aspiration and absolute alcohol injection. Intraoperative care focused on protecting the corneal endothelium and preventing alcohol leakage into the anterior chamber.
