amar has 5 glued iols every day. lol.

It appeared that after tucking the first haptic deep in the tunnel, the second haptic did not tuck as smoothly and appeared to have some slight kinking which prevented more aggressive tucking force. Kinking of the PMMA haptic can lead to easy breakage on the next flexion move. Why not use a stronger and more flexible haptic material to aviod this. Is there not a better material than PMMA, ie, the elastimide haptic of the staar lens? Larry Frank

Larry, the staar IOL is very good and doctors in the USA doing glued IOL like Roger Steinert and Samuel Masket use it, The problem is this IOL is not available outside USA. One more thing to remember on any IOL you use in glued IOL surgery is the injector system. The injector system of the IOL should be good so that the IOL comes out smoothly. If using the Staar IOL use it with the Alcon injector and cartridge. That would be better than with the Staar injector. Amar Agarwal
