Amar Agarwal FRCS
Show Description +
Amar Agarwal, MD, performs a Glued IOL surgery at the Indian Intraocular Implant and Refractive Surgery Convention (IIRSI). At the start of the video, the flaps have been made and cataract removed. As the three-piece IOL pushed out of the injector, the leading haptic is grasped by forceps and externalized. Periodically, vitreous strands are removed with a 23G cutter (Stellaris PC, Bausch + Lomb). Using a handshake technique, the trailing haptic is caught and externalized. After the lens is centered, the flaps and conjunctiva are secured with fibrin glue. At the end of the case, excess glue is applied to the corneal incisions.
