Hydrodynamic Levitation of a Dropped Nucleus

Show Description +

This video demonstrates the safe retrieval of nucleus from the posterior segment. The hydrodynamic fluid currents towards corneal section are used to levitate the lens matter into the anterior chamber, followed by its removal and a posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation on the capsulorhexis margin. The method is simple, safe, and avoids the use of perfluorocarbon liquid and photofragmentation.
