Fixation Out-of-the-Bag Dislocated IOL

Show Description +

Dr. Garry Condon presents his technique for out-of-the-bag fixation of a dislocated intraocular lens. In this case, the anterior chamber and three-piece IOL are initially stabilized by instilling OVD. The haptics are trapped by the constricted pupil to stabilize the lens during fixation to the iris with a modified Siepser sliding knot.

Thanks, Garry for the thorough but simple demonstration of this useful technique.

Very nice. I have found your technique of establishing the initial throw on each haptic, prolapsing the optic through the pupil and then completing the knot to result in much rounder pupils with iris suturing. Thanks again Garry.
