Double-Layer Amniotic Membrane Transplantation in Limbal Stem Cell Deficiency With Severe Corneal Conjunctivalization

Show Description +

Majid Moshirfar, MD, presents a case of double-layer amniotic membrane transplantation in a patient with a history of chemical corneal injury resulting in limbal stem cell deficiency and severe corneal conjunctivalization. This results in the development of a dense central corneal scar with associated visual impairment. Although simple limbal epithelial transplantation was discussed as a potential management option, the patient ultimately elected to proceed with double-layer amniotic membrane transplantation.
