This video shows how collector channels rapidly open and close in response to pressure changes. The behavior makes collector channel entrances a key factor in determining whether aqueous can flow distally from Schlemm canal. The trabecular meshwork actively moves in response to slight IOP changes. Contractile tubes spanning Schlemm canal provide a linkage between the pressure-sensitive trabecular meshwork and the flaps at collector channel entrances. Pressure changes move the meshwork and cause the collector channel flaps to open and close. MIGS placement and future development should benefit from the knowledge of this behavior.
