Besser Forceps for Malyugin Ring Insertion

Eduardo Besser, MD, illustrates a new technique for insertion of Malyugin ring which is much more gentle on the iris tissue. After the initial 3 coils are engaged, the Besser Forceps are inserted through the paracentesis to hold the ring after the inserter is removed. Then, rather than stretching the iris to engage the 4th coil, a second instrument is used to bring the iris to the remaining coil.
