B-MICS Technique: Step-to-Step

Show Description +

Dr. Gian Maria Cavallini, MD, presents a step-by-step demonstration of a bimanual microincisional cataract surgery with Akreos MI-60 IOL (Bausch + Lomb) implantation. A 1.4mm diamond knife makes two microincisions into clear cornea. The capsulorhexis is made with bent needle and hydrodissection is performed. The surgeon uses phacofracture technique with a bent 20G Phaco tip to create a central tunnel. A chopper helps attain smaller fragments. After bimanual I/A, the surgeon enlarges the incision to accommodate an Akreos MI60 lens.
