This is a video demonstrating early experience with the Ahmed ClearPath 350 ST (New World Medical). The diameter of the tube is smaller, which can reduce endothelial concerns. Furthermore, given the smaller tube diameter, along with a pre-placed ripcord, the fluid flow is controlled. Although this is a non-valved tube, it does not require ligation. This is similar to the Paul Glaucoma Implant (available in Europe, not the United States). For surgeons who still wish to have the robust IOP lowering of a non-valved tube, the rip cord can be removed and the tube ligated as usual.
