Michael A. Lawless, MD, presents a laser-assisted cataract surgery on a 3 to 4+ cataract using the LenSx Laser (Alcon). The surgeon walks though the incision placement planning and programs the main incision and an intrastromal incision on the axis of astigmatism. After the lens and cortical material are removed, Dr. Lawless uses a wound-assisted insertion to implant an AcrySof IQ ReSTOR Multifocal lens (Alcon). Throughout the procedure, the author imparts pearls and differences between conventional and femtosecond cataract removal.
