A Side-by-Side Comparison: With OMIDRIA® and Without

Show Description +

A split screen presentation contrasts cataract surgery with the use of OMIDRIA® (phenylephrine and ketorolac injection) 1% / 0.3% and without. OMIDRIA is indicated for maintaining pupil size by preventing intraoperative miosis and reducing postoperative ocular pain.

Rob - this is a great video. I have recently started with Omidria, and I am looking to compare the differences as you documented here. I pre-treat all patients with topical NSAIDS starting 3 days preop. But still, there are case like the one on your left where the pupil constricts during the case, making the case more challenging. Thank you for sharing.

Rob, this is a great demonstration of the value of keeping the pupil dilated during cataract surgery. An "easy" case becomes difficult without an agent to prevent miosis. In my experience in about a hundred cases now, Omidria maintains dilation better than epinephrine in challenging cases. Your paired videos very nicely illustrate this. Thanks.

Thank you for your videos. It seems the pupil dilation in both videos were not ideal (approximately 6mm)? Presumably video on the right is with Omidria but was there any preoperative dilation at all (with eyedrops) ?
