27-Gauge Pucker Peeling Without Forceps

Show Description +

Michele Coppola, MD, shares a new experience with 27 gauge vitrectomy probe which enables macular pucker peeling without the use of forceps. Intraoperative OCT (RESCAN 700, Zeiss) recordings shows the negligible traction caused by the high speed vitrector (27 Gauge Vitrectome, DORC).

Hi! Thank you for your interest. I usually dye only the ILM after having induced PVD. I used ala purple dye. I removed the sealing valve to have a direct infusion connection, having a better IOP control. Yes, I didn't use any tamponade.

Great video! Which dye was used? The ERM was not stained...and ILM wasn't removed, so what's the purpose of the dye? Why did you remove the self sealing valve? and no tamponade was used, right?
