23G Vitrectomy After IOL Implantation

Show Description +

Dr. Maria Berrocal presents a combined phacoemulsification and pars plana vitrectomy using a 23G system for a vitreous hemorrhage. Since this was a relatively simple case, a PCIOL is inserted prior to vitrectomy. Then vitreous and blood are removed from the surface of the retina with the Constellation System (Alcon Surgical) and Argon laser photocoagulation is applied. A partial fluid-air exchange is performed to provide better closure of the sclerotomies.
