Xen Gel Stent Revision and Ahmed Valve Implantation

Show Description +

Manjool Shah, MD, discusses a complicated case with Joseph F. Panarelli, MD, and Arsham Sheybani, MD, in which a patient implanted with a Xen Gel Stent (AbbVie) experienced an IOP spike after 6 months. YAG laser and needling were attempted but were unsuccessful in reducing IOP. The patient started to develop Tenon cyst formation at the point of outflow, so Dr. Shah decided to perform a revision of the Xen and implantation of an Ahmed Glaucoma Valve (New World Medical). He walks through his thought process for this approach and the outcome of the case.
