Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer Optical Texture Analysis

Leung, MD, MB ChB, chairperson and clinical professor for the Department of Ophthalmology at The University of Hong Kong School of Clinical Medicine, recaps his article—“Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer Optical Texture Analysis”—from the November/December issue of Glaucoma Today. In the article, Dr. Leung describes RNFL Optical Texture Analysis, an algorithm to uncover the optical texture and trajectories of individual axonal fiber bundles, which may help to identify RNFL defects in early and advanced glaucoma.
