A simpler technique in my own hands is to make the incision slightly behind the limbus, leaving a 3-mm stump. This way I can suture the conjunctival edges with a running mattress suture of either 8-0 or better yet 10-0 monofilament Vicryl on a round needle. I have also developed a trick to have both ends / knots of the suture completely buried. In my experience, this is technique offers secure closure and maximal comfort. Will be happy to share.
