Xen Gel Stent Minimally Open Technique

Show Description +

This video from Edward Yung, MD, demonstrates the minimally open technique for placement of a Xen Gel Stent (Allergan). Dr. Yung says this allows for the successful creation of a sub-tenons bleb with minimal trauma, bleeding, and risk of postoperative leaks. He says a successful sub-tenons bleb also reduces risk of stent erosion later in life, and also reduces risk of scarring and surgical failure from inadvertent intra-tenons stent placement.
