iTrack Advance: Canaloplasty Surgical Technique

Show Description +

Mahmoud A. Khaimi, MD, shares this surgical video describing the steps of the iTrack™ Advance (Nova Eye Medical) canaloplasty procedure. These steps include priming of the device, proper positioning of the eye and the handpiece, clear corneal incision, introducing the microcatheter through Schlemm canal with the aid of a gonioprism, advancing the microcatheter 360° to circumnavigate Schlemm canal, and withdrawing it while injecting OVD. This breaks adhesion inside the canal, stretches the trabecular plates by means of microperforations into the inner wall of the trabecular meshwork, and separates herniations of the inner wall of the trabecular meshwork into the outer wall collector channels.
