Injection of Mitomycin C Intraoperatively During Trabeculectomy

Show Description +

Albert S Khouri, MD, describes a technique for injection of mitomycin C at the beginning of trabeculectomy filtering surgery. Injection of mitomycin C is performed through a very small snip incision at the limbus using a blunt tip cannula. Injection of mitomycin C allows the delivery of a precise and consistent dose of the antimetabolite to a large surface area, and avoids the use of surgical sponges.
