Richard Rosen, MD, shares a case of a 62-year-old physician who presented to his ophthalmologist after experiencing symptoms in his right eye. The ophthalmologist suspected macular degeneration, but observed no overt leakage with fluorescein angiography. The patient was then referred to Dr. Rosen, who performed optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) and was able to detect a very early neovascular membrane, highlighting a key benefit of this imaging modality.
