Bilateral Congenital Cataract Surgery in a 45-Day-Old Baby: Right Eye

Channels: Cataract Surgery | Posted 10/23/2015

Simonetta Morselli, MD, performs surgery on the right eye of a 45-day-old baby with bilateral congenital cataracts. Echographic examination suggested a persistent hyaloid artery, and the patient's pupil became increasingly miotic throughout the procedure. The use of vitreoretinal forceps was required to remove a challenging posterior capsular opacity in the right eye. [No sound]
