Phacoemulsification of an Ozurdex Implant in the Crystalline Lens

A 67-year old is referred to Kristin DiDomenico, MD, 6 weeks after an Ozurdex (dexamethasone intravitreal implant, Allergan) was inadvertently placed in the crystalline lens. The implant is removed via an anterior approach using phacoemulsification.
