Reopening of the Capsular Bag for In-the-Bag IOL Repositioning

Channels: Cataract Surgery | Posted 4/9/2013

The inferior aspect of the IOL sits anterior to the capsular bag, inducing iris chafing. Careful blunt viscodissection allows the fused capsular edge to be separated without capsular rupture or zonulysis. In turn, the malpositioned IOL can then be placed properly and fully within the capsular bag, eliminating further iris chafing.
