Implantation of Orbtex Bio-ceramic Orbital Implant Following Enucleation of a Blind, Painful Globe Near Rupture

  Channels: Oculoplastics | Posted 11/26/2012

Yasser Khan, MD, and Charles Wm. Stewart, OD, present the implantation of a new bio-ceramic orbital implant, Orbtex, which does not require tissue or mesh wrapping. Intraoperative tasks are minimized due to a novel muscle attachment platform. The very smooth surface decreases rates of extrusion, simplifies insertion, intraoperatve positioning, and correct sizing of implant.
