A Supraciliary Device for the Treatment of Open-Angle Glaucoma

  Channels: Glaucoma | Posted 4/25/2012

Magda Rau, MD, demonstrates the placement of the CyPass Micro-Stent. The CyPass Micro-Stent is positioned on a small guide-wire with an atraumatic tip, which is used to separate the iris from the scleral spur, facilitating insertion. After establishing contact of the tip with the scleral spur, the surgeon moves the tip below the scleral spur and slowly advances the device into the small cleft created by the guidewire. The Micro-Stent is released at the desired depth, leaving only the proximal collar of the device in the anterior chamber.
