Mystery Retina Cases: Scatter Laser for BRVO with Peripheral Non-perfusion

by Derek Kunimoto, MD, JD, Ivan J. Suñer, MD

Earlier today Ivan J. Suñer, MD, of Retina Associates of Florida, presented a case of a patient with branch retinal vein occlusion who was resistant to traditional anti-VEGF therapy. He explains patients with peripheral non-perfusion tend to be more recalcitrant to treatment. In a small study, patients with peripheral non-perfusion were initially treated with scattered laser to the peripheral non-perfused areas and then began ranibizumab injections under the BRAVO treatment protocol.
