Dr. Yingjie Lin discusses results of a prospective, comparative study that assessed the reading speeds of presbyopes after bilateral implantation of AcrySof IQ PanOptix (Alcon) trifocal intraocular lenses versus a control group of presbyopes who had either no cataracts or mild cataract and no cataract surgery. Data demonstrated the PanOptix trifocal IOLs provided excellent visual acuity and complex near vision tasks like reading were less challenging than for those in the control group.
