I, ( Scott Geller MD ), John Karihkoff MD, and Feike Gerbrandy MD presented complications observed in a series of 542 eyes of 502 patients in a poster presentation at the 2012 AAO. Unfortunately Dr. Hahn et. al. must have missed it. These complications noted by us can be seen on the link below. Ophthalmologists starting this procedure are going to see complications, because there are no in depth training courses offered ( I was trained by Prof. Fankhauser in Bern, Switzerland ). Even with my experience in over 20,000 laser vitreolysis sessions, the AAO in its infinite wisdom, rejected a skills transfer course. You can see my dissection of the papers by Shah, Hahn, and Lin published in JAMA September 2017 here in my presentation to the Florida Society of Ophthalmology in 2018 https://vimeo.com/379389058 Scott Geller MD, Fort Myers, Florida www.vitreousfloaters.com
