Since the discovery that UV light can be used to disinfect water, Farhad Hafezi, MD, PhD, FARVO, and colleagues have been investigating the potential use of corneal cross-linking (CXL) for the treatment of infectious keratitis. Dr. Hafezi discusses the results of a randomized prospective trial investigating this potential.
