Now Is the Time to Embrace DAVS

  Channels: Retina | Posted 3/13/2018

In this interview with Charles C. Wykoff, MD, PhD, Rishi Singh, MD, talks about the use of digitally assisted vitreoretinal surgery (DAVS) in his OR. He explains that DAVS is essentially a system of cameras attached to microsopes and projected onto a monitor, allowing surgeons to operate through the monitor rather than through oculars. Drs. Singh and Wykoff discuss the kinds of cases for which DAVS is useful, what the learning curve looks like, and why retina surgeons should look into getting on board with the technology.
