Benefits of the Stellaris Elite With Adaptive Fluidics

Mitchell Shultz, MD, compares the differences between the adaptive fluidics of the Stellaris Elite (Bausch + Lomb) and the active infusion of the Centurion Vision System (Alcon). With active infusion, he says, anterior chamber instability can result from post-occlusion surge. On the other hand, with adaptive fluidics, which adds pressure into the anterior chamber upon entering the eye, a more physiologic level of pressure is seen during post-occlusion surge. Dr. Shultz also shares that, in his experience, average phaco time and effective phaco time are further reduced by the ability to use higher vacuum with adaptive fluidics.
