  Channels: Cornea | Posted 6/3/2018

Miguel Rechichi, MD, PhD, discusses the advantages of pulsed light CXL, including more effective keratocyte apoptosis; increased flattening of the cornea, the average keratometry, and the apical curvature; reduced corneal aberrations; and increased postoperative visual acuity. He also overviews the STARE-X protocol for selective transepithelial PTK with pulsed light and points to possible future treatments like enhanced fluence pulsed light iontophoresis.
