Video Guidelines

  • Videos should be between 3-7 minutes in duration and must not be longer than 15 minutes.
  • Videos must be accompanied by an English narration. If needed, an audio file can be provided separately.
  • Narration should describe what the surgeon is doing and why. Explain subtle maneuvers and name any instruments and/or devices that were pivotal to the case.
  • Remove all patient-identifying elements to ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Accepted file formats include .mov, .mpg, .mp4, .avi, and .wmv.
  • Standard videos should be provided in horizontal format (4:3, 16:9). 3D videos should be rendered in 3D stereoscopic format and have a 16:9 aspect ratio.
  • Files up to 2GB are accepted, however large files may not transfer completely if you have a poor internet connection. Contact us for an alternate upload method in this case.
  • Include any financial disclosures relevant to the video either in the video or in the text description provided with the video.
  • Avoid background music, movie clips, or animations that may be distracting to viewers or violate copyrighted content.
  • Companies may submit instructional videos for consideration. Promotional material consisting of product advertisements, Q&A interviews, webinars, and/or symposia captures will not be accepted.
