Case Information
A 60 year old patient with a diffuse ocular surface squamous neoplasia (OSSN) of the left eye tries Interferon, 5 Fluorouracil and Mitomycin C topical chemotherapy without improvement. He later underwent tumor excision which led to severe limbal stem cell deficiency that was corrected through ocular surface reconstruction and simple limbal epithelial transplantation (SLET).
Medical History:
Hypertension. History of anal warts and sun exposure as a child.
Concomitant Medications:
2 cycles of Interferon eyedrops; 2 cycles of 5- Fluorouracil eyedrops; 2 cycles of Mitomycin C eyedrops; 3 cycles of aloe vera activator eyedrops
Diagnosis:
Limbal stem cell deficiency
Treatment:
Epithelial Transplantation
