Geeta A. Lalwani, MD, asks Lifetime Mentorship Award winner Jay S. Duker, MD, to provide highlights from his talk on retinal vascular disease. Dr. Duker says OCT imaging only tells you a small portion of what you need to know. He also explains that diabetic retinopathy has a beginning, a middle, and an end, and if retina specialists can get patients through that middle part and treat them successfully, then they can expect excellent long-term visual acuity outcomes.
