Glued IOL Nasal Approach with Reusable Infusion Line

Channels: Cataract Surgery | Posted 1/10/2017

Ever desired to perform one of these complex surgeries without all the expensive bells and whistles in your operating room? You can! Here I show a case of an aphakic patient who presented 2 months s/p lens fragment removal and vitrectomy for secondary IOL insertion. Instead of using a anterior chamber maintainer or a trocar assisted infusion, one simply can utilize a reusable autoclavable infusion line. Also, instead of operating in the standard temporal fashion I decided to operate nasally to avoid the prior large 6 mm temporal incision with some residual sutures in place.
