Temporary Keratoprothesis in Ocular Trauma
In cases of corneal opacification and retinal pathology, a temporary keratoprothesis (TKP) allows for visualization of the intraocular structures and facilitates the treatment of anterior and posterior diseases in a single procedure. Cesare Forlini, MD, presents the use of a TKP in the "Pole to Pole" strategy for a 39-year-old male with previous PPV and PK following a penetrating trauma. The patient has graft compensation, total retinal detachment, and vision is light perception. Video Winner - Best in Show Award at ASRS BOSTON AUGUST 2011

The second case with IOFB probably did not require a PK. He would have faired well with his own cornea. But fantastic surgery, clarity is exceptional, and so is your skill. Well Done Dr. Cesaro. Deservedly WINNER!!
why waste cornea tissue on nlp eye?
