Pterygium Excision with Sutured Conjunctival Autograft

Girith Jethwa, MD, presents a pterygium removal using a scrapping approach. After the pterygium is removed from the cornea, it is excised from the conjunctiva as deep as possible. Dr. Jethwa advises against cauterization in order to assist graft healing. To ensure the graft tissue doesn't invert, it is slide over to pterygium area after excision.
