OZil IP With a Grade 4+ Cataract
Cesar Espiritu, MD, presents a 59-year-old man presented with a BCVA of 20/80 in his left eye due to a grade 4+ nuclear sclerotic cataract. The surgeon began by instilling DisCoVisc because the unique chondroitin sulfate formula protects the endothelium during surgery, maintains the anterior chamber, and keeps the intraocular structures in place without obstructing the surgery. After clearing the anterior cortex to expose the nucleus, he initiated OZil Torsional ultrasound and created a "pothole" in the center of the cataract. Is this a grade 4+ cataract??
Nice Video. Consider re-instilling some discovisc for endothelial protection after your hydrodissection. If you watch closely your viscoelastic was extruded during the hydrodissection step
