Bimanual MICS in a Small Pupil

Channels: Cataract Surgery | Posted 1/14/2012

Mark Packer, MD, FACS, CPI, demonstrates microincisional bimanual cataract surgery in an intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS) case. In addition to a very small pupil, the there is also moderate arcus senilis in a rather light iris which tends to conceal nucleus or epinucleus fragments in the angle recess. Dr. Packer places a Malyugin ring and begins to deconstruct the nucleus with a bimanual approach.
