Endothelium Protection in Micro-Chop
by
Marcos Gomez MD

Hi Jorge, today I measured 5 cases, average data: 60 cc inside the cassette,15 drape bag, 20 in container, 35 cc inside tubes, Undefined quantity lost over patient head, etc. Total 135cc.
hi marcos, how much fluid do you waste in a regular case?
Hi Gustavo, In soft lenses you may not perform a single chop but the harder the cataract the smaller can be the fragments. In standard chop you go blindly under the iris limiting the acuracy of the chop, in Micro-Chop we initiate the fracture in front of the phaco tip under direct visualisation. Microinstruments, microamplitude and microforce improves micro-chop precision.
How do you get the 20 or so small fragments of the cataract?
