CyPass Microstent Implantation Technique: Goniometric Implantation Without Use of Gonioscopy
by Ike K. Ahmed MD, Sean Ianchulev, MD, MPH
The CyPass is a minimally invasive suprachoroidal microstent for IOP lowering in patients with glaucoma. Conventional surgical technique is ab-interno clear-cornea implantation through a 1.2 mm paracenthesis under intraoperative gonioscopy. In this video, Ike Ahmed, MD, and Sean Ianchulev, MD, MPH present several cases of successful gonio-free implantation using new goniometric probe obviating the need for intraoperative gonioscopy during stent placement. These are the first cases of gonio-free precision microstent implantation illustrating the surgical technique.
