Cataract Removal with Lumera 700 in Corneal Opacity Case
A patient presents to Dr. Sri Ganesh with a dense corneal scar from a chemical burn and cataractous lens. Stereo coaxial illumination (SCI) of the OPMI LUMERA 700 surgical microscope (Carl Zeiss Meditec) provides a good red reflex which is especially beneficial when making the capsulorhexis. Phacoemulsification of the grade 4 nucleus is executed with the quick chop technique.

the lumera is unbelievable. i cant go back to a regular microscope! if one is not available where you operate, dont try it_ you'll hate using the regular scope!
