Ken Beckman, MD, demonstrates the Refocus Scleral Implant (Refocus Group) procedure for the treatment of presbyopia. After creating a 360 degree peritomy, the docking station is fixed to the sclera with screw-like connections. A scleratome creates a uniform, 4mm scleral tunnel and the scleral implant is pulled though the tunnel. The procedure is then repeated in the remaining 3 quadrants and the docking station is removed. Conjunctiva is repositioned and sealed with TISSEEL glue.
