Managing Diabetics After Cataract Surgery

Jonathan L. Prenner, MD, is joined by guest host Eric Nudleman, MD, PhD, for an interesting conversation with Rishi P. Singh, MD, on the risk for macular edema (ME) following cataract surgery in patients with diabetes. Dr. Singh discusses a focused phase 2 study in which high-risk patients received anti-VEGF at the time of the procedure in an effort to prevent the formation of ME. Having presented earlier in the year at ASRS, he also sheds light on both the safety and efficacy endpoints of the study.
